NY Yankees Old-timers Day

In 1939 the New York Yankees held a celebration in recognition of Lou Gehrig's achievements. In 1948 Babe Ruth was honored at Yankees Stadium surrounded by teammates.

The first Old-Timers Day took place on the final day of the 1947 season and continues today bringing back to the stadium heroes, hall of famers and fan favorites

As part of the 1984 Old-Timers Day celebration, the Yankees honored Elston Howard and Roger Maris by retiring their respective jerseys.
