World Series - 1938 New York Yankees v Chicago Cubs

As a reference.. I found this cover during an internet search. The auction listing is below.
The 1938 World Series was held between the New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs.
The yankees would ultimately sweep the Cubs in 4 games.
This was the last World Series to be played by Lou Gehrig.
The yankees lineup included Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Joe DiMaggio, Lefty Gomez, Joe Gordon and Red Ruffing, Frank Crosetti.
The Cubs lineup included Dizzy Dean, Gabby Hartnett, Billy Herman and former Yankee Tony Lazzeri.

The White Sox opened the season against the Milwaukee Brewers at County Stadium, Milwaukee. Behind the pitching of Tom Seaver, the White Sox take the 4-2 victory.

Moose Hass took the loss for the Brewers. No RBI, as both Brewers' runs scored off of wild pitches by Seaver
Apr 18, 1991 Chicago, Il - Inaugural Game New Comiskey Park
The Chicago White Sox opened their new Comiskey Park, after playing in old Comiskey since 1910.
After opening the season on the road and compiling a 6-2 record, The Sox faced the Detroit Tigers, who posted a 16-0 victory before 42,191 fans. The Tigers scored all of their runs in the 3rd and 4th innings.

The USPS produce the Legends Baseball Scrapbook and Stamp Album
The album featured one page about one of the players the USPS issued a stamp for, along with a place on the page for the stamp. The stamps were included in the album. There were an additional 3 pages of photographs of the player. the album measures 8.5 x 11
The album also came with 4 baseball cards that featured the USPS stamp image

Larry Doby - Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians retired Larry Doby's jersey #14.Doby was the second back baseball player to cross the color barrier, when he entered the game on July 5, 1947, as a pinch-hitter for relief pitcher Bryan Stephens. Doby struck out in his first at-bat. He would get his first hit the following day in the second game of a double-header against the Chicago White Sox.

Doby would go on to play for the Indians (1947-1955, 1958) Chicago White Sox (1956-1957, 1959) Detroit Tigers (1959) Chunuchu Dragons (Japan 1962)

Doby's career batting average was .283, 253 home runs, 970 RBI
