Little League Baseball and Softball is a non-profit organization based in South Williamsport, Pa. Founded by Carl Stotz in 1939 as a 3-team league in Williamsport, Little League Baseball encourages local volunteers to organize and operate Little League programs that are annually chartered through Little League International.
1946 the league expands to 12 leagues
1948 the league expands to 94 leagues
1950/1951 the first girl plays Little League Baseball, in Corning, NY posing as a boy
