Roger Clemens (Boston Red Sox) and Tom Glavine (Atlanta Braves) announced as Cy Young Award winners
Clemens wins his 3rd Cy Young with an 18-10 record, 2.62 ERA and 241 strikeouts
Glavine won his first Cy Young with a 20-11 record, 2.55 ERA and 192 strikeouts

Cy Young Award is given annually to the best pitchers in Major League Baseball. first introduced in 1956 by Baseball Commissioner Ford Frick in honor of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young
