The National Sports Festival of Japan
Originally called the Meiji Shrine Tournament, 1924-1943, held in area of Kanto commencing in the outer gardens of the Meiji Shrine
1946 the tournament was re-established as the National Sport Festival or National Athletic Meet, the national premier sporting event held in Japan
First day cover featuring stamps for Tennis and Weightlifting - additional pictorial postmarks for Torch Relay, Soccer, Tennis, Weightlifting and Martial Arts
