Billy Maartins was known as a scrappy infielder who made considerable contributions to the championship New York Yankees of the 1950s.

  • Kansas City Athletics (1957)
  • Detroit Tigers (1958)
  • Cleveland Indians (1959)
  • Cincinnati Reds (1960)
  • Milwaukee Braves (1961)
  • Minnesota Twins (1961)
As a manager he brought 5 teams to a first place finish, winning the World Series once with the Yankees.
During his multiple tenure with the Yankees, Martin was fired by team owner George Steinbrenner or resigned usually as part of a publicized scandal
