Jackie Robinson - 15th Anniversary

While searching the internet for baseball related envelopes and postmarks, I came across a thread from 2008 called Stuff No One Else Has on the Rebelscum Forums. I do not belong to this thread, but I really liked the cover that was posted and I am taking the opportunity to show it, so more fans can enjoy it. The postmark is dated Brooklyn April 19, 1962 and the envelope is signed by several of the Brooklyn Dodgers who played alongside Jackie Robinson (Carl Furillo, Al Gionfrido, Pee Wee Reese, Eddie Stanky, Ralph Branca, Commissioner AB Chandler and others)

The cachet is a newspaper sports editorial cartoon that ran in the New York Daily News called This Day in Sports. On April 10, 1947 Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball. The cartoon was drawn by Len Hollreiser, and was a daily feature in the newspaper.

A great piece of history!
