Babe Ruth - 1983

From the pages of Sport Philatelist International No1 Vol22 Sept-Oct 1983. The issue included information about 2 covers produced by SPI for the Babe Ruth issue and an article about a multi-postmarked cover...
A rather different cover has been produced by Paul Brenner. There are nine special cancels on one piece. A first day cancel for the Jackie Robinson stamp, Aug 2, 198 is provided. Also July 6, 1983 at St Vincent's Hospital Station is an unofficial first day for the Babe Ruth stamp and the Cooperstown July 31, 1983, is the date of Babe's induction into the Hall of Fame.
