From 2001 to 2004, Ichiro had more hits (924) than anyone in history over any four-year period, breaking the record of 918 that Bill Terry accumulated from 1929 to 1932; Terry, however, played in 34 fewer games than Ichiro during their respective four-year spans. He would later surpass his own mark by recording 930 hits from 2004 to 2007. During one 56-game stretch in 2004, Ichiro batted over .450. By comparison, Joe DiMaggio batted .408 during his record-setting 56-game hitting streak. Ichiro batted over .400 against left-handed pitching in 2004.

Alvin Davis - Rookie of the Year

Alvin Davis was named Rookie of the Year for the 1984 season. The Seattle Mariner first baseman finished the season with 567 at bats in 152 games and a .284 BA. Davis had 27 home runs, with 116 RBI. Davis made his debut on April 11 at Boston's Fenway Park, hitting home runs in his first 2 games played.

Davis would play for the Mariners from 1984 - 1991, California Angels 1992, Osaka Kinetsu Buffaloes 1992

Davis finished his career with a .280 Ba, 160 HRs, 683 RBI

Inducted into the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame 1997

Edgar Martinez - 2017

Edgar Martines was signed to a minor league contract by the Seattle Mariners in 1982. He would play with the Chattanooga Lookouts and Calgary Cannons before making his major league debut with the Mariners on Sept 12, 1987. A third baseman, Martinez was forced to become the Mariners designated hitter after he tore a hamstring in 1993. He won the batting title in 1995 with a .356 BA.
Martinez retired from the mariners in 2004
