Syracuse University Baseball 1873-1972

The Syracuse Chiefs baseball team was established in 1934, when the Jersey City Skeeters moved to Syracuse and were renamed the Chiefs. The team played in the International League (IL) through 1955. The team was then sold and moved to Miami as the Marlins for the 1956 campaign

The team ws re-named the Sky Chiefs in 1997, before reverting back to the Chiefs in 2006

The new stadium was dedicated on April 3 and opened on April 10, replacing the aging MacArthur Stadium (1934-1997)

The stadium set their record attendance on May 7, 2010, with 14,098 for Stephen Strasburg's AAA debut
