Norfolk - Tidewater Tides - MiLB

1980

Originally known as the Portsmouth-Norfolk Tides, the team began play in 1961 as members of the Class A South Atlantic League. In 1963, they joined the Class A Carolina League and became known as the Tidewater Tides. The Tides were replaced by a Triple-A International League team in 1969. The Triple-A Tides carried on the history of the Class A team that preceded them. The club rebranded as the Norfolk Tides in 1993

Washington Senators

Washington Senators 1901-1960

Founded as the Senators in 1901, the team changed names to the Nationals during the 1905-1955 , and then changed back to the Senators from 1956-1960. The names "Senators", "Nationals" and "Nat" were used interchangeably by fans and media. The team moved to Minnesota taking the name Twins in 1961

Vermont Reds - MiLB

1986

The Vermont Reds are a defunct minor league baseball team. They played in the Eastern League at Centennial Field in Burlington, Vermont from 1984 to 1987. They were affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds.  The team won the Eastern League Championship in 1984, 1985 and 1986.

Calgary Cannons - MiLB

The Calgary Cannons were a minor league baseball team located in Calgary, Alberta, for 18 seasons, from 1985 until 2002. They were a member of the AAA Pacific Coast League (PCL) and played at Foothills Stadium. The Cannons displaced the Calgary Expos, who played in the rookie level Pioneer League from 1977 until 1984. The team was previously known as the Salt Lake City Gulls before being relocated to Calgary. Following the 2002 season, the team moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they became the Isotopes.

The Inland Empire 66ers began when the Salinas Spurs moved to San Bernardino and bought the name of the San Bernardino Spirit from the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes who had just left town. The name was changed to the Stampede in 1996.

Lancaster JetHawks - MiLB

The Lancaster JetHawks were a baseball team located in Lancaster, California. They were named for the city's association with the aerospace industry and played their home games at The Hangar. From 1996 to 2020, they were members of Minor League Baseball's California League, a Class A-Advanced league affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB). With MLB's reorganization of the minor leagues after the 2020 season, Lancaster was not selected to continue in affiliated baseball, and ultimately folded

The Walla Walla Padres were the primary name of a minor league baseball team in the northwest United States, located in Walla Walla, Washington. Named after their parent club, the Padres were members of the Class A short-season Northwest League for ten years, from 1973 through 1982.

Jacksonville : MiLB

The first team from Florida known as the Jacksonville Suns arrived in the city by way of Havana, Cuba, and Jersey City, New Jersey. Following the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the Havana Sugar Kings of the Triple-A International League (IL) relocated to become the Jersey City Jerseys during the 1960 season. The franchise folded after the 1961 campaign and was bought by a local group headed by Samuel W. Wolfson. The Suns played their home games at Jacksonville Baseball Park. After the 1968 season, the team was relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, as the Tidewater Tides

A new Suns team began play in 1970 when the Double-A Southern League added expansion franchises in Jacksonville, and Mobile, Alabama. Jacksonville became the Double-A affiliate of both the Milwaukee Brewers and Montreal Expos for their first Southern League season. They became a Cleveland Indians farm club in 1971, and then began a much longer affiliation with the Kansas City Royals in 1972. Jacksonville became the Double-A affiliate of the Montreal Expos in 1984. From 1985-1990 the team was rechristened Jacksonville Expos.

1991-2016 the Suns named returned forming an affiliation with the Seattle Mariners. 2017 the team became the Jumbo Shrimp

Clearwater Phillies - MiLB

The Clearwater Threshers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. They are located in Clearwater, Florida, and have played their home games at BayCare Ballpark since 2004. They previously played at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium from 1985 to 2003.

The team began play in 1985 as the Clearwater Phillies and were named for their Major League Baseball affiliate. Clearwater became the Threshers in 2004 when the team moved to the new Spectrum Field.

Wichita Pilots - MiLB

1987

1987-1988 the Wichita Pilots were affiliated with the San Diego Padres. In 1989 the team affiliated with the Kansas City Royals, and the team was renamed as the Wichita Wranglers. Following the completion of the 2007 season, the team was relocated to Springdale, Arkansas, where it became the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, which continue to play in the Texas League as the Double-A affiliate of the Royals.

Tacoma Tigers : MiLB

Tacoma's first team in the Pacific Coast League was the tacoma Tigers, who moved from Sacramento prior to the 1904 season, moving back to Sacramento midway through the 1905 season. Another Tacoma Tigers franchise operated in the Western Leagues from the 1930s through to 1951, when the team relocated to Idaho. In 1960 Tacoma again had a team when the Giants affiliate moved from Arizona. The team did not take on the name "Tigers".  Following affiliations with the Giants, Cubs, Twins, Yankees, they became an affiliate of the Indians under the nickname "Tugs" before returning to the nickname "Tigers" in 1980. In 1981 the team changed affiliation to the Oakland A's, retaining the name Tigers

Chicago Cubs: MiLB Affiliates

The Centralia Cubs, Centralia, Illinois played in the Illinois State League (1947-1948) and the Mississippi-Ohio Valley League (1949-1952). This two leagues would eventually become the Midwest League.

Central played for 6-seasons, and were directly affiliated with the Chicago Cubs in 1947-1948. Home games were played at Fan's Field.

July 8, 1950: Gene Pisarski threw a no-hit game agasint the West Frankfort Cardinals, winning the game 6-0

Midland Cubs

The Midland RockHounds were previously known as both the Midland Cubs (1972–1984) and Midland Angels (1985–1998). While Midland has been the Double-A affiliate of the Oakland A's since 1999, they were affiliated with the Chicago Cubs from 1972 to 1984, and then with the California Angels from 1985 to 1998

Daytona Cubs - 1993

Prior to 1993, the Chicago Cubs were affiliated with the Winston Salem Warthogs, a Class A team that played in the Carolina League. At the end of the 1992 season, the Cubs decided to move their Class A affiliate to Florida. The Florida State League originally assigned the transplanted Cubs team to play at Baseball City Stadium in Davenport. However, Jordan Kobritz, the new owner and general manager of the minor league franchise, wanted the team to play in Daytona Beach instead.
