The KBO was founded in 1981 and has governed two leagues: the KBO League and KBO Futures League since 1982. It is one of two major baseball governing bodies; the other is the Korea Baseball Association, which is the governing body for amateur baseball competitions

Early Wynn

 Early Wynn (1920-1999) nicknamed "Gus",  was a right handed pitcher for the Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White sox. Known as one of the most intimidating pitchers in the game  throwing a powerful fastball.

Wynn won his 300 game on July 13, 1963, with a 5-4 victory over the Kansas City Athletics, pitching 5 innings

Amateur World Series - Italy : 1978


The 1978 Amateur World Series was the 25th Amateur World Series, an international men's amateur baseball tournament. The tournament was sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation. The tournament took place in Italy, only the second time outside the Americas, from 25 August to 6 September, and was won by Cuba – its 15th AWS victory

There were 11 participating countries, including first-time participants Belgium and Australia
