The 1975 Little League World Series August 20-23, Williamspport, Pa
The Lakewood (NJ) Little League defeated Belmont Heights (Tampa) Little League for the Championship

Nov 11, 1974 - Little League Baseball announced that all non-US teams were banned from competing in the Little League World Series, due to allegations that Taiwan was using out-of-district players. Actual reason given were travel costs and nationalism

International Leagues still held regional championships: in the 1975 Far East Tournament Taiwan defeated Japan. Taiwan also took Championships in the Senior and Big League World Series

The Italian team featured Giulio Glorioso, born in the Udine in the region Friuli Venezia Giulia, 1931
A pitcher and hitter whose contributions to the sport made baseball known to many Italians.
His career lasted 26 years from 1948-1974

Roberto Bianchi was named best hitter and Guglielmo Trinci voted MVP
Netherlands won the silver, and Spain won the bronze medals
Xavier Camps, Spain, named best pitcher, while Xavier Civit, Spain threw a no-hitter abasing Britain

Oina - Romania 1997 Non-Olympic Sports

Oina is a Romania traditional sport similar to baseball. The oldest direct notation of Oina was founded in a diet manual of 1782. In 1899 the minister of education decided that oina was to be played in schools as part of their physical education classes
Oina was features as one of four non-olympic sport stamps issued by Romania in 1997

The 4th Central American and Caribbean Games were held in Panama City at Estadio Juan Demostenes Arosemena. The games were held from Feb 5-24, 1938
The Games included 16 sports, 1,216 athletes from 10 nations.
Mexico picked up the most medals with Panama coming in second
Panama issued a set of 5 stamps with baseball one of the sports represented

The Hilldale Athletic Club (Darby Daisies) were a Negro league baseball team based in Darby, Pa. Established in 1910, the Daises became one of the powerhouse teams of the league, winning the first three Eastern Colored League pennants, winning the 2nd Colored World Series. The club incorporated in 1916 as Hilldale Baseball and Exhibition Company, and hired established ballplayers

Hall of Fame player Judy Johnson played 12 of this 15 years with the Hilldale Club, along with Oscar Charleston, Biz Mackey, Louis Santop, Jesse "Nip" Winters, Chaney White
