George Kell Birthday postmark for his 82nd birthday. Well would pass in 2009 at the age of 86
The Swifton Post Office was dedicated in his honor in 2010

George Kell, third baseman played for the Philadelphia Athletics (1943-1946) Detroit Tigers (1947-1952) Boston Red Sox (1952-1954) Chicago White Sox (1954-1955) Baltimore Orioles (1956-1957).
Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983
Kell was a 10-time All-star. 1949 won the American League batting title with a .343 BA and 59 RBI
Hit .300 or better for nine seasons.
Kell was born in Swifton, Arkansas on August 23, 1922. He played baseball for Arkansas State University, where the baseball facility is named Tomlinson Stadium-Kell Field, in his honor along with baseball coach Ike Tomlinson.
