Easton Howard was a catcher, left fielder and coach in the Yankee organization from 1955-1967, 1969-1970. He also played for the KC Monarchs (1948-1950) of the Negro Leagues and the Boston Red Sox (1967-1968)
Eight years after Jackie Robinson broke the color-barrier, Howard became the first NY Yankee of African descent

- American League MVP - 1963
- 2-time Gold Glove recipient
- Yankees honor Howard with Jersey Retirement and plaque in Monument Field
