1985 American League Playoffs, the Kansas City Royals returned to the postseason for the seventh time in ten years, and the Toronto Blue Jays made their first postseason appearance in franchise history. This was the first postseason meeting between the Blue Jays and Royals, and the only postseason series ever played at Exhibition Stadium. The Royals overcame a 3–1 series deficit to defeat the Blue Jays in seven games and return to the World Series for the second time in six years.
