1999 - Major League Baseball All-Century team was chosen by popular vote. The top two vote getters from each position, nine outfielders and the top six pitchers were placed on the team. A special selection panel added five legends to create a 30-man team. The nominees for the All-Century Team were presented at the 1999 All-Satr Game, Fenway Park, Boston, Ma.
Preceding the 2nd game of the 199 World Series, the members of the All-Century Team were introduced. The team included members of the Negro Leagues, who did not have the opportunity to play in the Major League.
The USPS issued a 20-stamp sheet featuring members of the All-Century Team on July 6, 2000 Atlanta Ga. The stamps were designed by Phil Jordan and illustrated by Joseph Stafford, working from old photographs of each player
