Hall of Fame - 1988 : Stargell

The Baseball Writers' Association of America voted by mail to select from recent major league players and elected Willie Stargell with 82.4% of the vote.  The Veterans Committee met in closed sessions to consider older major league players, managers, umpires, executives and members of the Negro League - no one was selected
