The South Pacific Games are a regional sporting event contested by members of the island countries in the South Pacific every 4 years. The inaugural games were played in 1963.
18 sporting events were contested: Softball, Soccer, Boxing, Basketball, Golf Athletics, Swimming, Netball, Table Tennis, Weight-lifting, Board Sailing, Bowling, Tennis, Volleyball, Rugby-Union, Cricket, Squash and Hobie-Cat
