The Homestead Grays were a professional baseball team that played int eh Negro Leagues. Established by Cumberland Posey in 1912, the team was in existence until 1950.
Originally based in Homestead, Pa the team eventually moved their games to Forbes Field and Greenlee Field in Pittsburgh. Starting in the 1940 seasons the team played half of their home games Griffith Stadium, Washington, DC
Following the collapse of the Negro National League after the 1948 season, the Grays continued as an independent club until 1951 when the team disbanded
