Clay Buchholz made his major league debut with the Boston Red Sox in 2007, staying with the team until 2016. He would also pitch for the Philadelphia Phillies (2017) and Arizona Diamondbacks (2018)
In his second career start, the rookie pitcher threw a no-hit game against the Baltimore Orioles, backed by 10 runs. Buchholz became the third pitcher to throw a no-hit game in his first or second career start, since 1900. Buchholz is the first Red Sox rookie to secure the feat
