Oldsmobile Park opened on April 3, 1996 with a game between the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. On April 5 the Lansing Lugnuts (KC Royals affiliate) had their opening day against the Rockford Cubbies
2010 the name of the field was changed to Thomas M. Cooley Law School Stadium, as part of a sponsorship agreement. Later that year the Jackson National Life Insurance Company purchased the rights to name the field, and the name was changed to Jackson Field at Thomas M. Cooley Law School Stadium
2014 an agreement with the Jackson National Life Insurance Company secured the name of the field as Jackson Field
