Olympic Baseball - 1984

 The US Olympic baseball demonstration team tour, June 11-July 28, participated in games throughout the US, playing against the South Korea, Japan, Stan Musial All-Stars, Jackson Mets, Louisville Redbirds, Greenville Braves, Tri-City Triplets, as well as several local All-Star teams

Eight teams competed in the demonstration sport. 
White Division: Chinese Taipei, Dominican Republic, Italy, United States
Blue Division: Canada, Japan, South Korea, Nicaragua
Cubs originally qualified for the competition, but withdrew as a result of the Soviet-led boycott
Japan defeated the United States for the Gold Medal with a 6-3 victory
