Jim Deshaies
Jim Deshaies pitched for the New York Yankees (9184) Houston Astros (1985-1991) San Diego Padres (1992), Minnesota Twins (1993, 1994) San Francisco Giants (1993) Philadelphia Phillies (1995) finishing his career with a 84-95 record and 951 strikeouts.
Deshaies set a milestone in his debut with the Yankees as the 1,000th person to play an official game for the Yankees. He would pitch in 2 games for the Yankees before they traded him to the Houston Astros.
September 23, 1986 pitching against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Deshaies set a major-league record by striking out the first eight batters of the game (Steve Sax, Reggie Williams, Enos Cabell, Pedro Guerrero, Alex Trevino, Jeff Hamilton, Dave Anderson)
The Astros would go one to win the game 4-0, with Deshaies earning his 10th victory of the season, against 5 losses
